Personally, I make friends with everybody I meet. I've always treated coworkers like family, and built long-term connections. In appreciation of them, I draw them into cartoon characters or put them into music videos!
I created this music video for a coworker I worked with twice, once at Shopify and then again at Mantle. He was always a stand-up guy that encouraged my progress at work!
I worked for Shopify and started as a Guru (e-commerce consultant and customer service rep). After I was promoted to financial services, I ran the Shopify Capital cash advance training for every newly hired Guru for 3 years. Sometimes there'd be 156 new employees in the session! It was known as the most entertaining, energetic training session at Shopify at the time. In appreciation of all those Gurus, I made music videos and played them during the sessions.
I worked with Simon at Mantle and he lived in New Zealand! He seemed like a cool kiwi, so I created a music video to welcome him to our company :)
